Though 2.4GHz technology is quite an advance in R/C radio system design, it is of our opinion that in fact it IS good technology, but to the 'purist' of the hobby, crystal-based radios just may be the radio gear of choice. This is primarily due to the fact that a well made crystal (Such as ours) 'well captures' the oscillator circuits' signals (From withing the transmitter) which in turn causes the radios to be extremely responsive from the time of input to the servo.
Though this is not an issue for the average driver or flyer, it becomes critical to many flyers of aggressive types of aircraft and helicopter pilots who can not afford any risk of signal latency of control signals to the servo's. Also (Until all boaters are convinced otherwise), the 'reflection' from a 2.4GHz signal on the waters surface have posed some serious performance issues.
In short, 2.4GHz is here to stay and again, it's a wonderful technology for the hobby industry. If that is your radio of choice and you have the extra money for the gear, great! On the other hand, if you are a user of a crystal-based radio, we are hopeful that you will be sold on our crystals. If you have yet to try them out, please read an extremely detailed white paper that goes into great details as to why our crystals are so good! It can be found on our website at http://performancedevices.com/reliability_study .
